GARE ST LAZARE IRELAND IN A CO-PRODUCTION WITH RUBICON THEATRE COMPANY AND LAGUNA PLAYHOUSE. IRELAND/USA

The Realistic Joneses

BY WILL ENO

JOHN We were listening in on you guys earlier.
PONY Not in a weird way.
JENNIFER Oh, good.
PONY Yeah, we were just standing over there in the dark, totally still.
JOHN It sounds worse when you put it into words.

Meet Bob and Jennifer and their new neighbours, John and Pony, two suburban couples who have even more in common than their identical homes and shared last name. As their relationships begin to irrevocably intertwine, the Joneses must decide between their idyllic fantasies and their imperfect realities.

Gare St Lazare Ireland continue their exploration of Eno’s work following their award winning collaboration on Title and Deed which was written for the company in 2011.

Life in Enoland isn’t what you’d call realistic —
it’s more real than that.
