We are pleased to announce that David Nolan has been appointed as Chairperson of the Dublin Theatre Festival Board of Directors.
David was appointed to the board in 2015. Speaking on his appointment as Chairperson, David said: “I am honoured and delighted to be appointed by the board. I am looking forward to the exciting years ahead working with a great team”.
Willie White, Artistic Director & CEO of the festival said “David is astute, insightful and a lover of the performing arts. I look forward to working with him and the board to plan for the future of Dublin Theatre Festival”.
David was educated by the Jesuits at Gonzaga College, Dublin. In 1981 he completed a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from UCD and then attended TCD, where he completed a Diploma in Anglo Irish Literature. He has the near unique distinction of having been an active member of both Dramsoc and Players. He was called to The Bar in 1985 and took Silk in 2003. He was elected to The Bar Council in 2005 and has served as Chairman of many committees and was elected Vice Chairman in 2009 and Honorary Secretary in 2010. He was elected Chairman of The Bar Council of Ireland in 2012/2013. In November 2013 he was called to The Bar of England and Wales and in December 2013 was elected a Bencher of the Honourable Society of the Kings Inns. He is married, has three children and lives in Dublin.
