We are thrilled to announce the Slingshot Residency participants that will be joining us in Festival House. Slingshot is in partnership with Creative Europe Desk Ireland.
Eoghan Carrick and Lauren Moukarzel
Eoghan Carrick and Lauren Moukarzel use the artificiality of technology to create intimate, human works of theatre. Their first production RESCUE ANNIE premiered at the 2021 Dublin Fringe Festival in the Abbey Theatre, supported by Arts Council and the festival’s DUETS programme. They are currently developing two projects, KONSTANTIN and SISTER, with the support of Arts Council of Ireland arts grant funding. They are associate artists with Once Off Productions.
Katie Honan
Katie is a writer, maker and performer from Waterford. Her focus to form characters representing societal eccentricities, often through distinct physicality. Recently, she developed her movement practice through the lens of neuroscience — supported by an Arts Council Bursary. She has produced theatre, radio and film projects both locally and nationally. Her new work explores the delicate dance between man and monster in oneself, with an aim of bridging the gap between spectator and performer, through dramaturgical focus on sound.
James Riordan
James is a theatre maker and Artistic Director of Galway based Brú Theatre. Brú’s latest show, Somnium, premiered at Galway International Arts Festival 2024, and their show Not A Word will next be seen at the Barbican London in January. Brú will be developing a new piece in collaboration with Lisbon’s Teatro Dô Silêncio about bell ringing as an act of healing, defiance, ritual and tradition, premiering in Autumn 2025 (Ireland) and 2026 (Portugal) .
tasteinyourmouth
tasteinyourmouth was founded in 2020 by William Dunleavy, Grace Morgan and Laoise Murray. They make original, experimental work that is uncanny, shiny and feminist.
Their debut production, b(l)oom, was seen at The New Theatre in January 2020. Their sophomore production, Narcissus, was seen at Smock Alley as part of Dublin Fringe Festival in September 2021 and at the Chiswick Playhouse, London, in January 2022.
Their site-specific piece, You’re Needy (sounds frustrating), premiered at Dublin Fringe Festival 2023 and was nominated for Best Production and the First Fortnight Award. It was recently seen at Summerhall at Edinburgh Fringe 2024 as part of the Culture Ireland Showcase, and at Gothenburg Fringe 2024 where it won the Hot Topic Award and was nominated for Best Use of Space.
Their new opera, Hysterically Shopping! to some sort of end… with Glasshouse Ensemble and composer Aran O’Grady received work in progress showings at Dublin Theatre Festival and Project Arts Centre in 2024.
They were Artists in Residence at Dublin Fringe Festival 2024.
