DTF joins Prospero NEW to promote Irish theatre across Europe

A big part of DTF’s mission is to bring the best of Irish theatre to the world so we are thrilled to take part in a major European theatrical platform, Prospero NEW. Prospero NEW, co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union, has 19 members and is focused over the next four years of its programme to discover and promote emerging artists across Europe. Financial and cultural barriers often stand in the way of great theatre reaching a broader European audience. Prospero NEW will offer a range of practical supports to overcome these barriers including research residencies, co-productions, mentoring, and touring.  

DTF was delighted to join the other programme members at a special launch event in Sofia, to meet other participants and to share ambitions around helping European theatre reach wider audiences. Prospero NEW will run from 2025-2028 and includes participants from Gothenburg, to Georgia, to Barcelona to Dublin. At a practical level, this project will help bring together talented artists from across Europe, giving them opportunities to develop their projects and reach new audiences.
